TRANSFER GLUE

Water-based Adhesive for Transfer Print

Properties

Transfer Glue is an acrylic-based thermoplastic adhesive suitable for direct screenprinting
onto acrylic and other inks for transfer application. Transfer Glue is specially designed to
be tacky during heat application and provide excellent binding to various types of cotton,
polyester and blends of these two types of fibres. Transfer Glue retains the softness of the
fabric and is extremely wash fast. Unlike adhesive powders, Transfer Glue is simple in
terms of application because it does not involve the process of sprinkling solid powder onto
the relevant print. Transfer Glue is slightly tacky after complete curing and would require
protection (normally release paper) in order to avoid tack and transfer between finished
prints that are intended for subsequent transfer.

Application Procedure

Print Aquasol rubber ink or other suitable inks onto release paper and allow to dry
sufficiently. Print Transfer Glue directly onto the ink and allow to dry overnight. Cover
and protect the dry glue with a suitable piece of release paper. To transfer the print onto
fabric, preheat the iron, hot press or other suitable equipment to ~150oC. Place the print
with the glue side directly onto the fabric and apply heat onto the release paper for about
1-2 min. Cool the print to room temperature before peeling off the release paper from the
print.

Storage

Do not exceed one year from date of manufacture. Protect from frost (>5oC). Keep lids
tightly closed at all times after use.
