Silkscreen Printable Hot Melt Glue for Metal Foil on Textile
Properties
Aquasol Foil Paste is formulated for hot melt applications of metal foil on cotton-based and cotton-polyester
blend fabric. Aquasol Foil Paste is formulated to provide a smooth and even coat on textile in order to ensure
good and consistent adhesion of the metal foil. Unlike regular foil glue which can provide a rather grainy
appearance on the metal foil and can sometimes feel rather stiff as well, Aquasol Foil Paste when printed
with metal foil is soft and very smooth. Smoothness of the final foil is important in determining the degree
of gloss and metallic appearance of the print. Aquasol Foil Paste is free of formaldehyde, APEO (alkyl
phenol ethoxylate), heavy metals, azo, PVC (poly vinyl chloride) and all phthalates.
Application Procedure
Print Aquasol Foil Paste directly onto fabric with a mesh screen of 1000-1200. Allow Aquasol Foil Paste to
dry under ambient conditions and then place foil paper on top of the dried glue surface. Heatpress or iron
the foil paper at 150oC for about 10 s. and allow the prints to cool under ambient conditions before peeling
off the paper. For difficult applications where adhesion or wash fastness is problematic, add 3-5% of Aquasol
Fixer NF into Aquasol Foil Paste and apply foil paper not more than 8 hours after printing the Aquasol Foil
Paste. Then allow for 72 hours after heatpress before conducting wash test.
Storage
Do not exceed twelve months from date of manufacture. Protect from frost (>5oC). Keep lids tightly closed
at all times after use.
